In The Air

To get a bird's-eye view of O`ahu, you can take various helicopter tours -- short trips over Waikiki and Diamond Head or Nu`uanu Pali and Hanauma Bay, or a longer trip over the entire island.

You can also take a day-long "flightseeing" tour of O`ahu and the other Hawaiian islands departing from the Honolulu airport. You can stop for lunch on Maui, and stretch your legs in Hilo, on the Big Island.

One or two-passenger glider flights are also available from Dillingham Air Field on the North Shore. Soar silently over the rugged beauty of the northern part of the island.

If you want to get a "chicken skin" experience (Hawai'i's term for a big thrill), try leaping out of an airplane -- with a parachute of course. Sky diving flights and instruction are available at a number of sky diving centers.
